Subject: Petrol Prices Must Read

If, like me, you are fed up with fuel prices, this could actually work - and is easy to make happen

Subject: Petrol Prices Must Read

The price of oil is as low as it has been for a while, But the oil companies have simply jacked their prices up and the government will not do anything as they rake in extra VAT for every increase.

See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it.

We are hitting 114.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying 150 a litre. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the ‘don’t buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn’t continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us  to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take  aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we  consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the  price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here’s the idea:

For the rest of this year DON’T PURCHASE ANY petrol FROM the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It’s really simple to do!!

Now, don’t wimp out at this point… keep reading and I’ll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it  to  at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)… and those 300 send it to at  least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) … and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and
pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it… …

           THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That’s all. (and not buy at ESSO/BP). How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference . If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 90p a LITRE RANGE

It’s easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and BUY your  petrol at Shell, Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Jet etc.

                BOYCOTT ESSO and BP.

Tiling course Comments

Filed under: Tiling courses, Wall and Floor Tiling — Riley's @ 5:01 pm

Like a lot of people i thought long and hard before finally taking the plunge and doing the 10 day wall and floor course. I looked at various courses on the web but always ended up back at the Pitt website as it just seemed so professional and the feedback was very positive. So in Feb this year i did the wall course then last week (April 9th) the floor course.Everything about both courses was superb! the facility, the food but most of all the staff to whom nothing was too much trouble.Jasons teachings were excellent and if there was something you were’nt sure of he would spend time with you until you were sure. So thank you Paul, Jase, Kev, Phil and all the office girls for a really great two weeks, i feel that Pitt have given me the knowledge and confidence to go ahead and make a career from tiling the rest is up to me but with the superb technical back up and these forums i am very confident of succeeding. Thanks once again. David

PITT Training course feedback

Filed under: Tiling courses, Wall and Floor Tiling — Riley's @ 5:05 pm

Pitt training courses, there not a new start business overhead there an investment! With the added bonus of their back up telephone support which is far from too good to be true! Whilst I consider myself a perfectionist and perhaps also confirmed by other people I realised after doing the 4 week tiling course (early 2007) followed by the plumbing course with Pitt my confidence was boosted immediately. I suppose we can all be perfectionists but it doesn’t mean we are doing the job to the correct standards and safety requirements as when I did the course I was horrified the way I had worked in the past. As we all do when booking courses we shop around as our budgets are paramount and yes I did my homework and covered every angle, the support line was a big attraction and thought perhaps too good to be true (proven wrong), 9 times out of 10 you will have blank moments once on the job after training its only natural, those horrible feelings, the customer in the back ground whilst you are trying to look like you know what you’re doing, what did Jase say about the datum line? What did he say about the highs and lows of the floors and ceilings? One quick call I was refreshed and the stressed lifted! And carried on to enjoy fixing the tiles leaving the customer extremely happy along with a recommendation. The other added bonus was any uncertainty with quoting with materials was aided by Phil of what I needed and his calculations were spot on with some profit. My only concern at present I suppose is guilt, I have been out of the tiling industry for nearly 18 months due to unforeseen circumstances and just re launched my tiling and bathroom installation business ’Heritage stone & ceramics Ltd’ and have to admit I had lost contact with Paul and his colleagues at Pitt but new they had to be my first port of call. Yes, nearly 18 months gap, still there, still returning calls through into the evening and still overly helpful and supportive and rembered me (how could they forget). Suppose initially lacking confidence like falling off a bike and all that…straight away I was invited to return to Pitt for a complimentary refresher, more theory than practical, trust me no one else provides that service! And from my mystery shops with other organisations after trying the support service I’m still waiting for the call back. My focus is now currently aimed at the swimming pool, steam rooms and spa sector, concentrating on full refurbishments and repair maintenance work. With the right training and attitude anyone can do it, any queries or a chat please feel free to contact me initially by email on coleman576@btinternet.com Paul, a big thank you to all of you at Pitt! Credit where it’s due, excellent overall package!

Thanks Richard

Home Brew

Home Brew

Beers, Lagers & Wines

In the lead up to Christmas I started looking into growth markets during 2009, there are not many industries doing well, so I thought I’d hit the high street to find businesses that were benefiting from recession, beer at home namely “Home Brew” is one winner up in takings by more than 300%.

Many questions were asked while visiting one small “home brew” shop in the small town of Kidsgrove, Staffordshire, the answers were so positive I felt it time for me to join in and try it out for myself.

I purchased 1 x food quality brew bin 1 x pressure barrel 1x beer kit starting off with a cheap £7 Young’s kit, well one week in the bin mixed only with sugar and water then transferred to the beer barrel, in just two weeks I could not wait any longer it had to be tried, taking a small wine glass I poured a small measure and looked at this near perfect beer I had made myself well the taste shocked me, as you may guess with the odd visit from friends and family the barrel was empty in just over one week. I have since made some 4 kits ranging from cheap £7 to £19 kits the more expensive kits require no sugar however my findings on the more expensive kits will be printed here in the next week or so.

If you have any experience in home brewing or would like to find out more use this space to post questions & answers

Customer service letter to Trades-Direct.co.uk

Call us on 01782 566166

I discovered Trades-Direct on the internet for tiling products and found them to be associated with PITT the tile training company. They were just down the road from me so I popped down to get a quote for all the adhesive, grout, sealers etc that I would need. I have done a bit of tiling before, but this was a big leap to natural stone and large format. The chaps down at PITT are exceptional when it comes to customer service. I am a DIYer, who has just popped in, I am not paying for a tiling course from them and I know little about the products that I require. They made me a cuppa, took me through to the tiling school and then onto the storeroom from where they supply their trade customers. I was armed with a stone tile and asked ‘how do I put that up?’ It ended up with 3 or 4 of their trainers all debating the best/ most suitable products for me and grout colours etc. They even demonstrated the various sealers to show me the available finishes. I left with my quote to supply all the required items and needless to say went back a day or two later to purchase having realised that their price was some £200 cheaper than a certain large chain tiling supplier. A few days later when I was struggling to get clean cuts they even lent me their radial arm tile-cutting machine for nothing (some £800 worth)! I cannot praise them enough for their exceptional service.
